Always avoid saturated fats. Their
only benefit is to provide energy, which can be obtained elsewhere. Saturated
fats are animal fat. (Red meat, butter, cheese, sour cream, cream cheese,
etc.).
Mono-unsaturated and
poly-unsaturated fats are much preferable and even offer some benefits to
the system. Mono-unsaturated fat is found in olive oil, whereas poly-unsaturated
fat is found in many vegetable oils such as, sunflower, soy, nuts, etc.
These fatty acids can help to clean the arteries. Oils contained in fish
are unsaturated.
Poly-unsaturated fats aide in the
development of cell membranes, reinforce immunity, play an important role
in the coagulation system, and lowers cholesterol. You should Never
eliminate all fats from your diet.
